I have been under the care of Dr Alexandropolou during my in-patient stay at RSCH, following severe dehydration and gastrointestinal infection prior to the start of chemotherapy. The care has been exemplary and thorough; it has been easy to discuss any worries with Dr Alexandropoulou - I have complete confidence in her as my gastroenterology consultant, and would gladly recommend her.

This doctor is the rudest woman I have ever met. The fact she is providing a service for vulnerable people with her attitude is worrying. I had been diagnosed with something life changing. This doctor responded to my concerns and questions Insensitively with phrases such as 'I don't have time for this' or '' why are you telling me this?. Bare in mind these points I raised were points my Doctor from my surgery had said are very important to mention. The emotional impact this had on me and the anxiety I felt because of her should not be ignored. The examples of her responses may not seem that offensive however a certain level of bedside manner is required in the NHS. This woman needs to be spoken to, I believe it is extremely important that she improves on her attitude toward patients who may be feeling weak mentally and physically.

Dr Alexandropolou performed my colonoscopy today. Not being squeamish, I had shown the nurse a photo showing that my punctilious preparation had apparently not completed the cleaning required, so the consultant began cautiously without my being sedated to see whether it was feasible to continue. It was. Sedation was administered, Dr. A. explained everything I saw on the screen as she progressed and she advised me about the enhanced medication I would need. I found her patient and thorough. I felt no pain.

Having not previously met this Doctor and having read the one review previously on here, I was naturally a little apprehensive on what to expect. I have seen many specialists before and Dr Alexandropoulu was exceptionally helpful and efficient. Whilst my appt was an hour late at Cranleigh Village Hospital she explained everything carefully and took the time to go into detail on any concerns I had, giving me a factual report on the breakdown of my blood results which was really helpful for to me to understand any implications. I found her to be clear, concise, empathetic and informative and therefore would advise anyone reading these reviews to make their own judgement.

I have just returned from my first appointment with this doctor - which, if I can help it, will also be the last. It didn't help that I was kept waiting for something like 40 minutes before going in. That happens, and cannot be held against her. However, the first thing she said to me, was that she did not have the notes from my oncologist requesting the referral, and do did not know why I was there. Thereafter, when she asked me questions about the history, as I tried to answer she repeatedly said, "I haven't got time to listen to that". We were obviously not getting anywhere, and I then left - the only time I have ever simply walked out of a doctor's consultation.
